got to cheshire oaks yesterday (^_^)v

but i brought too little cash…m(_ _)m

i mean, i brought £50, the budget for a coat, boots, glove and transport…

lao eh…

my coat cost me £40 lar…the coach back and forth was £5…so…

no boots, no gloves…

AND! there was tons of cheap stuff (like from all the english brands and choco) Gap was still expensive though…but, even though i liked alot of stuff (i’m hardly ever able to say this when i shop) i couldn’t afford to…

goddamit!

there was also a reallyyyyyyy nice and warm scarf!

and ok boots…but with my toe…i really didn’t have the mood to try anything on…

so yeah…close to 4 hours of walking around shopping killed my toe…i mean, i can’t feel anything (i just walk funny) just that when i got back…i realised i bled into my sock…AGAIN…

so joanne, her hall mate and i went down to town to get antiseptic cream (i had been using alcohol to clean it up until then…pain like hell sia) and dressing…

came back, made rice and porridge…and when fendrick came over…we just sat and talked and talked ^.^;;

it was about 9.30pm before we decided to go back and eat…5 minutes later, before i knew it…all 3 of us were at gillian’s and andy’s place…^.^;;; having dinner, muffins and mooncakes…m(_ _)m

haqeem and haqim were also there…then we watched ‘BOO’

B grade horror movie if you ask me…hahahhaa, the scriptwriter’s lame…and everything thing that happened was a cliche…but, me being the wuss i am was still freaked…

so we stayed behind and watched some ‘not-scary’ stuff…a show called ‘the x factor’…produced by simon cowell apparently…and it’s fun~!

we left soon after though…^-^

…then slept for 9 hours….hahahha, had to recharge…was damn sick yesterday, but am feeling tons better now…(^-^)v save for the toe cause i stubbed it by the toilet door..

i rock man….

i lost just lost the an entire toe nail tonight…(right foot’s big toe)

i guess i’m still in shock…so it doesn’t really hurt yet…gillian the 5th year med student said it’ll hurt tons tomorrow…but other then that…it should be fine and drop off on its own in a week or two…

but yeah…it happened at the singapore society welcome gathering…it was fun though! food was great! (like, nasi lemak-ish food…and economy rice-ish food) then the games started…involved us peeling pomelos first…then running around in circles with lanturns on sticks that were tiny! i could have sworn they were just halves of a matchstick…

oh god…i still cant believe i’m losing my toenail…T-T

it doesn’t hurt….but i bet it’ll be troublesome lar…i live on a god damn hill lar..

anyhoo…we mingled for abit…yeah, you kinda don’t have to be singaporean to join the society…so! i found someone who’se doing archaeology as well! well…not egyptian archaeology (ancient civilisations) but, close enough ^.^;

played dog and bone after that…and yeah…dangerous game…fendrick popped his shoulder…joanne and rekha both fell…the guys, daniel, jacob, dunil, chris, haqeem, hakim, german guy whose name i didn’t catch, mario, cecil…all of them lar…basically wrestled for the roll of newspaper lar…hahahha…and well…i lost my toe nail…

plus…i’m falling sick…my throat is killing me…

and then…i can’t even sleep yet…cause my hall mate is out, and his keys are with me (his friend came over, and is now leaving…so no choice…) i have to wait till 2am

then have to get up early tomorrow morning for the trip to cheshire oaks? (am i spelling it correctly?)

oh yeah! but it was damn lame…we had to choose a name for our team…and fendrick, our team leader) just had to go ahead and name us “the winning team”

yep yep….it was our trip to Anfield (AGAIN) yesterday…yeah, we had to formally make a booking for the tour of the stadium and museum…

so yesh…everyone’s from singapore, except Dunil whose from Nepal…he’s on the right of the first row…then there’s Joanne…then me lar…

2nd row from behind me is Rekha (pronounced ray-ka arh…lol, we’ve been calling her Recca lar…^.^; ) then beside her is Andy, president of SingSoc (singapore society)…

top is from the left is Fendrick, Haqeem and Haqim…xD damn cool lar!

Both Haqeem and Haqim have similar names, are both uber big fans of Liverpool, have their phone numbers only one number apart…AND both their birthdays are only one day apart…

so yeah…it was cool…i didn’t think i would enjoy it very much…but the guys are hilarious…and after the trip to the museum and watching a video on the 2005 UEFA Cup Championship thingy…i can understand why people get so worked up watching the sport…the atmosphere is great lar~!

anyhoo…i officially have to start working my butt off now…^-^;

after watching a couple of episodes of Oofuri (okiku furikabutte) i kinda realise i think and act alot like the main guy…

wah…if that’s me arh…die, must change…

anyhoo, i just got back from the library (^-^)v

it was my first time in there, and got lost…when i found myself in the section i wanted, i almost got run over by my tutor ^.^; think he’s also working on a paper…so yeah…

and OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!

i LOVE…ABSOLUTELY LOVE! this library to bits!

they have shelves upon shelves of books! (egyptology/archaeology) like…i always knew it was a very well equipped library (which was one of the reasons why i chose to come here) but…OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG

and not only that! they have a great selection of archaeological books as well! (albeit on a different level, but whose’s complaing? ) and then and then…there’s the departmental library of all the old…like OLD published in the 1600’s-1800’s kind of old-books…but that’s only open 3 hours a day, 5 days a week…so i haven’t had a chance to go there yet…

yeah…i didn’t quite remember it was today…am tired for several reasons…none of which i would care to express here at the moment…but yeah, i decided to take a stroll…

quite suicidal to do that here at night though…haahaha…it’s uber cold! and i went out in my long sleeve shirt, scarf and ipod nia…bloody hell…what was i thinking?!

mmmmnn, so thinking and walking…thinking and walking…sun set and i’m still walking…

then i see the moon…

but it looks upside down ^.^;;

but it was pretty…

it was huge! peeking out from behind the clouds like you see in paintings…it had a silvery glow to it…like seriously…it looked like it was glittering…

and to think i used to be scared of the moon (grandma and maids used to sing this lullaby about the moon to get me to sleep ^.^; )

anyhoo…the thinking like the walking just went around in circles…so i gave up and came back to do get started on my paper…

walking back to my block, i see fendrick from his window ^.^; neighbour lar…

then when i got back into my room, i hear this tap on my window…

hahahaha..it was haqeem…

btw, before any of us got a phone number when we first arrived in liverpool, we used to call each other out by throwing stones at each other’s windows..^.^;;; i live on the first floor by the main road lar…so it’s the easiest to hit…

the others? all 2nd floor or have their windows at some obscure corner…

so yeah…when i think about it…i’m already very lucky…

how many people get to do the one thing they’ve always dreamt of?

how many people arn’t alone while doing it?

so already…i have alot to be thankful for..

i think i just think too much…

anyhoo, just got back from gillian’s place (med senior)…bumped into joanne’s housemates when i was leaving the house, so we decided to help them carry their groceries back to their place first…truckload lar!

like, you know those 10kg rice bags? they got 2 of those, but they were pasta…and 30 (i am not kidding you) more plastic bags…

yeah, so…dropped by gillian’s place…talked abit…and oh my gosh! i’m homesick! hahahaha…yeah, it’s apparently like this for everyone…will hit an all time low between jan-march because winter is depressing here…haix…*shrugs*

then andy got home and told me they were throwing stones at my window thinking i was in…hahaha…i leave my light on lar…talked abit more before he volunteered to walk both of us home…joanne’s textbooks are heavy lar…>.< and i thought mine was bad..

yeah…it’s 2300hr now…i should shower and get some shut eye…tml morning i’ll head to the library and get started on my paper…

anyhoo…my long awaited student card…the library people even gave us this really cool holder thingy…it gets in the way of stuff (when i put it in my wallet) but what the hey…

anyhoo…i kept bumping into hiroshi (from egyptology) yesterday…it was raining alot, but i had to get some texts lar…so, dropped by the bookshop, and he was there…

walked away, realised the lady didn’t give me my £9 change (ALOT OF MONEY HOR!) and ran back…and he was crossing the underpath there…

so we went to get lunch ^.^; might as well lar…we were both free…

eto…here’s my sinful sinful lunch…it’s at a place called the font near where i live (and where the guys go to watch football, or footy as fendrick calls it…hahaha) totally reasonably priced…with HUGE servings!

i got the potato skin special ^_____^ tons of melted cheese and crispy deep fried bacon! with salsa, this refreshing green thingy and sour cream..YUM!

oh…and the rain broke my umbrella..so…DIE LAR!

then~~~ i met the guys and rekha and mom to head down to Anfield…lol…nothing much sia…the stadium is smaller then i thought…^.^;;;

but it’s kinda cool what andy is doing (president of the singapore society here) he’s getting the newpaper to do a cover on us ^.^;;; in liverpool lar…and is hooking up with ministers to get more scholarships for Singaporeans to come to Liverpool…

but i haven’t met my coursemates….but i have met people from the Egyptology degree ^.^; they just bunched all of us up you see…but it really doesn’t matter…6 of 8 of our subjects in the first year are the same…^.^;;;

but guess what?

i’m the only asian in my course…XD but there are 2 more from Japan in Egyptology…and no, i haven’t spoken to them…^.^;

they party a lot…got invited to go to a club…but naahhhhh…i’m old and tired…XD plus…i’m meeing joanne early this morning to go take a look at accommodations cause they still haven’t been able to change her’s…

mnnn…the day has come…

to meet my lecturers, tutors and coursemates…

ahhhh! i’m nervous….i mean, i came to this uni BECAUSE of the tutors they had…BECAUSE i semi-fangirled books they had written…

ahahahahahahahaha

and it’ll be the first time i’m not meeting up with any fellow Singaporean ^.^; yeah, the members of the Singapore Society here are pretty close cause there’re so few of us…i think there are barely 20 across 3/5 years of intake…

but they are pretty fun…had dinner at Andy/Gillian/Michelle/Chris’s place last night (they live above a HUGE mama-shop) It was pot-luckie, so everyone brought a little something….Rekha’s mother made the BEST indian curry…with something marsala powder from Singapore…yum yum yum!

so, there were tons of food…(i ended up bringing cheeseballs from Tescos cause Gillian and Michelle were making pasta ^.^; ) the guys brought cake and yeah…little smiley faced hashbrowns and soups also popped out from somewhere ^.^;

after tons of soccer and talking…we all ended up playing the Singapore-version of the game Taboo!

oh god…how in the world do you play that?!?!?! it’s like you have one minute to get your team to guess a word on the card (remember, it’s the Singapore-version) without using another 5 words stated below that word.

bloody hell…

i suck at word games lar…then come and give me this kind of thing to play at night…

XD but it was damn fun….lol…we might be going down to anfield on friday for the tour of the stadium (hey, i AM in liverpool)
