mnnn, i’ve also been thinking about things to do in summer. i was a little late in applying for museum work for this summer it seems and the next round of interviews will be in september…m(_ _)m so that’s sorta not going to happen now…the BM forwarded my application, but i doubt that will be any different from the other museums…so…T-T i’m thinking it’s back to Gilds for me…running odd jobs here and there is still better then nothing. 

once i get back from turin, it’s off to work for me…no pottery, no riding…will sit down and get research redone for the dissertation with part time work on the side. 

but…i’m looking to learn how to drive this summer now…(^-^);> and i’m the kind that crashes into the wall the minute i get into the car in the arcade…oh dear lord…help me…

it’ll be veryyyy useful getting around in…i can’t cycle for days just to get to a secluded dig site in the middle of nowhere i suppose…i’m thinking it’s either learning to drive or photography (the camera and it’s lens costs JUST as much as the driving lessons and tests do) and well, while both will be useful, i suppose one option is more practical at the moment…i can always learn photography on the field when i need to. 

*fingers crossed* we’ll see…have a few more procedures then usual because i’m not local, so hopefully everything will go smoothly.

went to manchester yesterday mainly to attend this tour agent job ‘open day’ thing…it turned out to be a bunch of (i wouldn’t go so far as to say crap)  RUBBISH! and to think i stayed up the night before just to get my resume rewritten and formatted…pui!

it was actually a weird pyramid selling thing~ major copy of what amway already does…that i don’t mind…but tardiness is a MAJORRRRRRRR pet peeve of mine…and THEY, the organisers, were LATE…not by 5 mins like the hotel staff told me the first time…so i went to get KK while they were still open…they were also not 15 mins late (like the staff told me again when i got back) but 50 minutes! 

THAT was crap…an entire hour of my life i will never get back…worse thing is…the weather outside was PERFECT! it was summer for hell’s sake…

and even with the additional hour, they could not set up their presentation right…ex-lawyer my poop! no powerpoint, everything was streamed from websites that because of their nature the computer kept going to sleep mode only every 5 mins…

instead, in that one hour we (a grand total of 4 people including myself in a room that could cater to 80 comfortably) waited, they had the balls to play out, tickling each other and chasing each other around the front of the room and entrance…

i couldn’t leave…not being one of a 4 people audience…so i waited to hear them out…you…come and show me a promotional video about the travel industry being big…ok, i know…i understand…but it was a bunch of poppycock! how is comparing the coffee industry to the travel industry representative of anything?! the former would of COURSE be smaller for fuck’s sake…now, if it were the F&B industry versus the travel industry, you’d have my attention, but WTH! the audience isn’t DUMB…

as if that wasn’t bad enough, they get their MOST EXPERIENCED EMPLOYEE to come and speak to us…HE had a grand total of 15 months with the company…i’m sorry? most-experienced? he made NO POINT….absolutely zilch…and he kept pointing to an imaginary presentation with slides and figures as he talked out “the figures” or “the numbers”…

alright…so WHERE in fuck’s sake are they?

you want me to BUY into your business, SHOW me the evidence…

it’s just a bunch of baseless crap…and even that doesn’t sufficiently describe it..

worse of all, they then wanted the four of us to SIGN UP and PAY UP FRONT to JOIN their pyramid selling scheme…some poor sods stayed behind but i bloody had enough and stormed out…

no…i’m paitient…i’m a complete newbie to the travel industry but…WTH was that?!

haix, still…it wasn’t a wasted day in manchester…got some donuts, went window shopping and had an amazing dinner before fend and charles returned to pick me up to go home…

so the day wasn’t COMPLETELY wasted…got home, helped charles move with fend and jen…got home and hung out abit in the living room with everyone (kin, hany, simon, aik thong were there playing mahjong) lol…i love thai advertisements!

once again stayed up till 5 watching the magics beat the cavaliers (WOOHOO!) while jen dyed fend’s and kin’s hair…lol…supposed to be a light brown, but it was formulated for use on blonde/light coloured hair…so whatever highlights the boys had was darkened! ahahahaha!

so, kin’s now gone home~ hany and jeremy too~ mnnn, it’s that time of year again…

anyhoo, got some actual shopping done today at L1 with jen…(^_^)b we’ve been looking for straw hats…still haven’t settled on one that we like yet…(well, we have, but it’s £30! as opposed to the not to nice ones going for 6 quid) so, i think she’s going back to shop tomorrow before leaving for Greece…i’m just tired…mixed up the painting day~ (^-^); it’s thursday! not tomorrow xD 

ahya, better lar, i want to SHLEEP! it’s been too bright to nowadays so i’m just lethargic all day long now operating on less than 4-5 hours of sleep a day…

 was bored today as always…so i pulled out the sculpy…and made some faces (^-^);> 

you can’t see anything, but they have mouths too xD 

this is just about as creative i can get…m(_ _)m faillll~ i made a cast of my finger…lol, the utter dryness of my skin makes for some interesting texture (^__^)b although i don’t quite know what to do with these once they’ve gone into the oven…we’ll see~ i’ve got some acrylics and glaze anyhoo~ just gotta get my brush back from jen first…

oh oh oh~ i’ll be helping to paint a mural for a kids center next week (it’s apparently an under-the-sea themed one)…i love the opportunity to get messy~ first step to ridding pre-summer boredom and return a little to the community i’ve grown to love!

and i’ve never been more bored.. (^-^);

it’s only been 6 hours since the last paper ended and already i’ve run out of things to keep myself busy…will pop by town tomorrow of friday to the job/volunteer agency to get some stuff worked out to make the resume look good. (^_^)b

gonna be in manchester sometime this weekend to look into things…and if i can squeeze in some time, chester too~! will begin sorting out my research information again next week before leaving for turin…TURIN! finally…lol, been itching to fly over since i arrived in 2007. just ask the housemates~! xD

as for the rest of summer (besides a job and volunteer work hopefully) i’ll have to start with the French language again…that and hieroglyphs are on the top of my list~ i will hopefully practice some japanese and mandarin on the side…ahhh~ it’s gonna be a terribly linguistic-ie summer. i’ve been considering some outdoorsy stuff like riding or pottery (by outdoorsy i mean out of the house xP ) but that will have to wait till i find the moolah!

other then that, i’ve only got plans for when school begins! if things go my way, i’ll be interviewing for a summer museum internship in september, working on the dissertation while ‘mentoring’ the freshers…hahaha, i promised i’ll try to be nice~

ahhhh, i’m far from being an alcoholic…i just like hanging about vegetating and if there arn’t any affordable starbucks, TCCs or any other cafes to hang out at…why not the pub? lol, i’ve upgraded from having orange juice (last year) to this…this year…

the glory that is pimm’s…i HEART! it doesn’t taste alcoholic and is only a litttttttle carbonated tasting…bad cause if you drink it too fast…WHAM! lol…i’m terrible with alcohol lar…which is brilliant because i don’t need to spend alot of cash to get drunk if and when i want or need to

mnnn…been busy…been sooooooo busy…

HDD died and took my assignments with it (which thankfully is proving to be good news because if it didn’t, i would have handed in a SHOT report as i’m learning this very minute…PHEW!)

i did brilliantly well on my last osteoarchaeology assignment that even earned a ‘fantastic’ from the lecturer who attacks us like a rabbid dog on smack for the smallest issues. so i think that’s quite an achievement…

i just hope i do as well in the exams less then 2 weeks from now which i have yet to even GLANCE at because redoing these essays are taking more time then i predicted…what with the books being impossible to locate and my brain shutting down for 2-3 days on end because of the NBA…(GO MAGIC!!!)

been in a relatively bite-ie mood lately too…it’s not the all round GRRRR thing…but it’s targeted at certain people…i don’t know why…you know when you suddenly notice all of a person’s faults and read into all of their actions…negatively? i don’t know why…

well…i do…kinda…

i find it nice that people like me spending time with them, but when i say i’m busy with work…I AM busy WITH work for god’s sake…i like my coffee time as well…they then take it out on my work…

am i not allowed to have other friends…i’ve been through this before and it didn’t end well…even after close to 5 years, we’re still not as close as before…argh! am i THAT bad a friend? 

this is why i sometimes like being by myself…i don’t have to answer to anyone.

haix, i HAVE to remember…that at the end of the day…i am here to study! those are MY priorities. i’m not going to risk it because i want to be popular or whatever…those are my work ethics, and i really wish some people could understand that.
