July 2009

two posts ago…i was moaning about not being able to find soy yoghurt in town and having to trudge in the rain for 40mins to get some…

but TODAY!

in town!

AHAHAHAHAHAHA

i’m sooooo loving the supermarket for bringing it in~!

(yesh! total product placement but…alpro rocks!)

when last at hotel chocolat in Manchester (a wee while back actually) they were giving out free choco to taste. and here it is~ i think it’s their house blend of milk chocolate. it was really rich, creamy with that lovely tinge of bitter sweet chocolate-y taste just at the end.

the packaging was totally no frills (as far as a chocolate shop would go i suppose) but the design of the wrapping is lovely don’t you think? the guy who was kind enough to recommend choco for the people i was getting them for (who appeared to have been the manager! xD ) also sneaked me more of this choco to bring home and enjoy.

ahhh~ choco is good!yay

snacking on yoghurt has become a daily ritual of mine now~

i just really wished a store in town stocked plain soybean yoghurt because that 40-min walk to Asda is really horrid in the middle of a thunderstorm.
thundercan’t down normal yoghurt because my tummy just flips out.

(kinda inspired by the ‘beauty and the beast’ poster that i’ve spotted around somewhere recently~)

no prizes for guessing what suzanne, simon and i had for lunch today at liverpool ONE

yep yep~ kaiten-zushi! i was desperate for some unagi and since Yo Sushi! was having a summer discount special (40%) i figured it was a good chance to try out the restaurant. It was rather expensive though! 4 plates of food and one refillable cup of tea had left me £9 poorer after the discount

(=_=)

but! but! i had gotten my unagi-fix!

(i didn’t care how it tasted)

and there was poached salmon too~ which was ok except for the dill which usually is wonderful with salmon….but…doesn’t go particularly well with sushi rice.

dessert followed soon after though…it was a Mango & Kiwi Cake that had melted under the intense spot lights that lined the conveyor belt (^-^); it didn’t taste like mango OR kiwi….kind of like a tangy mouthful of artificially sweetened mousse really…well, at least it looks pretty?

so! the dining atmosphere there was good…just~ i’m no sushi expert but i’m convinced that it could really do WAYYY better with the flavour of the sushi. however, there was a major lunch crowd so they must be doing something right…that said, i’m in no rush to go back anytime soon~

since the weather was uncharacteristically splendid last saturday, i decided to take the tamron lens for a test drive at the bombed out church since i had spotted some hydrangea bushes there the other day~!

i don’t particularly like bugs, but admittedly, they are interesting to look at through the lens…kinda starting to understand what the producers and animators of “a bugs life” must have felt now.

anyhoo~ i just found a programme that turns your shots into polariods! it’s one of those really cute and nice things to have on your desktop with an easy drag and drop function.

my only gripe with it is that you can’t select the portion of the photo you want to have cropped. it auto-selects the center of the shot (by default at least)

well, more fiddling to be done with the programme but…run

i’m off to the library for now~
